About the School
Julie Kearney founded Coachouse Gourmet in the fall of 1991. Since then she has been teaching students from the greater Chicago area the art of gourmet cooking and elegant entertaining. The classes have been designed to be interesting, informative and enjoyable for cooks of all levels. Julie makes gourmet techniques and dishes accessible and easy in her popular 30 Minute Gourmet and NO WAY Gourmet classes. She teaches the classes in the kitchen of her suburban home. All classes are participation based and are as fun as they are informative. The students work together to create each dish. At the end of class, they sit down and sample the food they have prepared over a talkative friendly lunch.
About the Teacher
Julie Kearney has been teaching cooking for over 15 years. She has studied cooking at Dumas Pere, La Varenne at the Greenbrier Cooking School in White Sulphur Springs, WV as well as the Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School in London. She has a short cookbook on hors d'oeuvres and is also working on a Thanksgiving cookbook. She has lived in the greater Chicago area for thirty-five years and in Glenview for twenty-three years. She is married and has three children.
